Gene Ontology Data Archive

The Gene Ontology archive provides GO data - ontology, annotations, and associated files - from March 2004. The archive was built from the legacy GO CVS, SVN and archive products. The archive was reconstructed on a monthly basis, similar to our current release cycle, and the file structure and file format were made consistent with the GO monthly releases produced since 2018.

Users are also encouraged to cite the release date of GO (e.g. 2005-04-01) used in their analysis to enable the reproducibility of their experiments.
